This section describes JLPT
Introduction to the new “JLPT(Japanese Language Proficiency Test)” exam
JLPT/The Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT/The Japanese-Language Proficiency Test) is a Japanese Language Proficiency Test for non-native Japanese learners in Japan and overseas. The test is organized in Japan by the Japanese Language International Education Support Association, and in China by the Japan Foundation for International Exchange and the Overseas Examinations Center of the Ministry of Education of China.
The new JLPT is divided into five levels: N1, N2, N3, N4, and N5. Compared with level 1 of the original Japanese Language Proficiency Test (which is equivalent to the level of third and fourth grade Japanese majors in Chinese universities), the N1 is more difficult. However, the pass line is essentially the same as the current test; N2 is basically the same as level 2 of the original Japanese Language Proficiency test; N3 A level between Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 2 and Level 3 (new); N4 is basically the same as Level 3 of the original Japanese Language Proficiency Test; N5 is basically the same as level 4 of the original Japanese Language Proficiency Test.
The conformity assessment criteria for the new Japanese Language Proficiency Test after the reform:
Pass is assessed by the overall score and the passing score of each individual score. A passing mark for each individual score means that each individual score should achieve at least this mark. If one of the individual scores does not meet the passing mark, then no matter how high the overall score is, it will not be considered a pass.
